Jumping has been part of Izobelle Louison-Roe’s life for as long as she can remember. From backyard experiments with siblings to gymnastics classes that taught strength and movement, that instinct to leap and fly found its natural home in athletics. What began as fearless play eventually evolved into serious high jump talent, guided by discipline, structure, and patience.

For Louison-Roe, high jump is as much about performance and joy as it is about centimetres cleared. “I love the energy of a big crowd,” she says. That mindset has carried her from national youth competitions to international success, including a bronze at the World Under-20 Championships and a recent personal best of 1.95m, which also qualified her for the Commonwealth Games.

Family has been at the centre of her journey. Coached by her mum, Karen Roe, Izobelle has benefited from an environment where guidance, support, and smart training come first. Together, they focus on rhythm, strength, and a steady foundation, building an athlete who is injury-free, versatile, and grounded. Izobelle has also stepped into coaching roles herself, gaining insights into technique and the mental side of competition by working with younger athletes.

Her training isn’t limited to high jump. Izobelle also competes in triple jump, long jump, and hurdles, using these events to complement her main focus while keeping the joy alive. Smart training, combined with gymnastics and a focus on recovery, strength, and fundamentals, has allowed her to perform at a high level across events.

Through it all, the joy remains unmistakable. From backyard experiments to world-class competitions, Izobelle Louison-Roe is proving that talent, family support, and a love for the sport can take an athlete soaring - and she’s only just getting started.
